How to Improve Marketing in Your Company

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 11:25 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Many believe that in order to improve our marketing that we must completely consider how we wish to sell our products and services and train our customers how to do business with us. Well, some of that makes sense, yet you can sure spend a lot of money training your customers how to do business with you only to find out they won’t. Therefore it often makes more sense to observe the customer’s buying behavior and how they wish to do business rather than contemplating how you wish them to do business with you.

Some marketing consultants say that unless one defines their business operations in a lengthy business plan, that their marketing more often then not will in fact end up using the wrong marketing options in the incorrect ways. Indeed this could end up costing quite a bit of unnecessary funds and since cash flow is king that can be problematic. If these marketing consultants are correct and that their approach to the situation is divine, then we are led to believe that we must choose our advertising, brochures, signage and marketing tools based on how we wish to do business irregardless of the customer.

There is an inherent folly in such logic and that is that the customer is king, just like the cash flow and restrictions on the customer inhibit purchases to your business. Marketing which goes against the natural flow of funds from the customer is wasteful, even if one believes it is the most efficient way for the business to deal with them. You must put your mind inside of your target markets heads and then always consider this when choosing your marketing dollar allocations and which types of marketing make the most sense. Consider this thought in 2006.

Info on the Astonishing British Royal Family

Filed under: Travel Tips — admin at 3:40 am on Monday, July 28, 2008

Public Calling and Image

Members of the British Royal Household participate in several hundreds of private duties year on year, all through the UK, as officially recorded in the Court Circular, to credit, encourage and learn about the triumphs or activities of individuals, organisations & enterprises in an assortment of areas of life. As representatives of the sovereign, they regularly connect with the nation in celebrating past occasions, festivals, celebratory & heartbreaking affairs and frequently she also supports or joins in several hundreds of charitable, artistic & communal activities.

Their vacations overseas on behalf of the U.K. (called State Visits when the Queen publicly sees other heads of state) brings public awareness to great associations within and between the Commonwealth & other nations, to British merchandise & trade, and to Britain as a historical, vacation, & holiday location. Their existing jobs & established jobs adds up to the peak of an up-to-the-minute “royal court,” & endow a particularly British and historical show to services (e.g. Trooping the Colour) & flavour to public proceedings (I.e. State Parties, Royal Ascot).

During their lives they draw immense public exposure in the way of pictorial, printed and broadcasted commentary concerning their daily lives, family contact, means of passage, characters, clothing, manners, & public functions.

Funding

Monies that help the Queen in the workings of her roles as the chief of state of the United Kingdom comes from the Civil List. This is a return of a little piece of the revenue from the Crown Lands that are offered by the sovereign to parliament at the appointment of each reign; all Crown Land being overseen by The Crown Estates, an organisation that is exclusively accountable to parliament. In the 2003-04 financial year, the sum amount endowed was one hundred and seventy-six million pounds, where the Head of State’s expenditure was only thirty six million pounds. The Head of State’s expenditure does not contain the price of security. Information about the English Royal Family can be found at (enjoyEngland.com) the official site for tourism in England.

Chicken Mushroom Marsala - Easy and Elegant for the Amateur Gourmet

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 11:49 pm on Sunday, July 27, 2008

If you are having company and want to make something easy but really flavorful, try this chicken Marsala recipe. This is my favorite way to eat chicken for a few different reasons. First, I love how tender it comes out. If you really pound your chicken breasts nice and thin, it will result in unbelievable tenderness. Second, the flavors of this recipe are perfection. The sauce made with wine, butter, and chicken broth cannot be beat. Third, I love how quick and easy it is to prepare! If you are having it with rice and vegetables, be sure to start them first, because once you start cooking, this chicken will be done in about 15 minutes.

Here is what you will need:

2-3 Chicken Breasts, pounded thin

4 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour

2 Teaspoons Marjoram

Teaspoon Salt

4 Tablespoons Butter

2 4oz. Cans Sliced Mushrooms

2 Tablespoons Sliced Green Onions

1 Cups Chicken Broth

1/3 Cup White Wine

1. Mix together flour, marjoram, and salt. Pat chicken breasts into the mixture on each side to coat. Shake off any extra.

2. In a Large Frying Pan (preferably with deep sides) heat 1 Tablespoon of the butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms and green onion. Sauté for 5-10 minutes until tender. Transfer to a bowl.

3. Add the other 3 Tablespoons of butter to the pan. Brown chicken on each side over medium heat (about 4-5 minutes per side).

4. Pour mushroom mixture back into the frying pan. Add chicken broth and white wine.

5. Simmer for 5-10 minutes to let the flavors mix together.

I think this recipe is best served with some white rice and a steamed vegetable. You can spoon the sauce over the chicken and over the rice as well. If you need to let the chicken simmer on the stove a little longer than 10-15 minutes - don’t worry - this recipe is very forgiving and it won’t ruin the taste or tenderness. Just make sure you turn the heat down as low as possible for that period of time.

Where Do You Like To Write?

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 6:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2008

Recently, I came across an article in one of the magazines I read for lawyers that mentioned a special place, part of I mansion or a historic building that has been turned into a haven for writers.

They showed a picture of it, along with the proprietor, an ex-lawyer, herself.

Its décor is San Francisco Victorian, lots of reds, wood, and big wing chairs, as I recall.

You might call it warm and chummy.

Anyway, the article suggests that business is booming. Writers pay a monthly fee to ensconce themselves there for several hours, so they can do their craft, in peace, free from the distractions of their offices, homes and families.

Recently, I was on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe, and I stayed at a cozy place that gave me a living room right on the lake. The place was relatively empty as it was the off-season, and almost perfectly quiet.

But I felt no compulsion to write.

Apparently, peace and quiet and beauty are not prerequisites for putting my fingers to the keyboard.

In fact, I don’t mind a certain amount of racket around me as I compose, and some of my best writing has been done at coffee houses, where there are innumerable distractions.

I think I may even enjoy having a certain amount of humanity around me as I write. It makes me feel less isolated.

All of which brings up this key question: Where do YOU like to write?

I think it’s an essential query, because if you know, you can be efficient and happily productive. Also, you can avoid the frustrations and the fish-out-of-water flailing that can overcome you when you try to do your thing in the wrong locale.

If we were perfect, we could write anywhere about anything. But we’re not.

So, experiment.

Try different locations, and use those that work for you, because the “ideal” writer’s spot is the one where you produce.

Efficient Blogging

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 7:47 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2008

One of the challenges of blogging is to come up with good posts that interest readers and keep them coming back. Sometimes I do not feel like I have good original wisdom. It is presumptuous to think I can have top quality original material all the time.

A second challenge is the time to blog. I run a $1 Billion dollar company so when I decided to blog I knew I needed to figure out how to do it efficiently. My blog is mostly about efficiency and time management; these are topics I study.

These two challenges can be solved with a simple concept. Copy.

Ideas to use when copying are:

1 - attribution. Give the credit together with the link to the original author.

2 - look for something you can add to. Blogs can be synergistic. Take a concept or part of a blog post and expend on it and give your opinions, insights or views. In many cases, this can start a flow of ideas that are enriched from the original post.

3 - You can use either the whole post or most usually just part of it and point people to the original.

4 - I usually ask for permission which has never been denied. After all copying helps the original author and garners them some readership. And of course never copy copy written material without permission (and most blogs are not copy written).

5 - The simplest place to find material to use to copy is by blog surfing although this can mean a lot of irrelevant material to filter. One source of free articles sorted by topic is www.isnare.com.

6 - In many cases the person you copy from will point a link back to you since it is flattering to them. Charles Caleb Colton said “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” (one trick on quotes is to look them up on www.brainyquote.com). These links to you can increase your traffic.

In summary, copying saves time and increases the quality of material on your site. It can even lead to traffic since in many cases you will get link backs from the original site.

Top Seven Ways Writing Articles Can Explode Your Online Business

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 8:05 am on Thursday, July 24, 2008

In today’s highly competitive internet universe, the importance of attracting highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be overemphasized. Routing web traffic to your site can be your only means of survival, especially in the cutthroat world of ecommerce. Getting a high search engine ranking can be very difficult. Fortunately, there is plethora of website promotion strategies you can use to drive traffic to your website.

There is a wide variety of strategies you can adapt, from paid advertising to affiliate marketing. However, most of these techniques require payment. Nevertheless, there are ways to promote your website and increase your web traffic without spending anything. Writing articles is one of the best web site promotion strategies you can use, and they can be very effective. How, you may ask, can writing articles help improve your web traffic? Here are the top seven ways in which it can help explode your business.

1.Reach more people

When you write good articles, it would be a shame not to share them with other people. You can post your articles in your website or you can submit them to other sites such as e-zines and online publishers. By submitting your articles to these sites, you give exposure not only to your ideas but also to your website. Simply include a link back to your site or include your information in the resource box. With this, you get exposure and free advertising as well. Submit your articles to popular e-zines and take advantage of their popularity. Other sites who find your article relevant may also link back to you. Thus, you increase your link popularity, which is one of the most important strategies in the internet world. Remember that most people are looking for information online and by filling this need with your quality article; you may reap the benefit of more exposure and higher web traffic.

2.Free Advertising

Submitting your articles to other websites presents an opportunity to advertise your website without paying exorbitant fees. Although you should avoid marketing language in your articles and make it informative and useful to your readers, you can always include your site’s link in the resource box. In addition, by making your article relevant and helpful to your readers, you are making a good impression for your website, which could ultimately lead to a visit and hopefully a purchase. Good quality content in an article is far better and more effective than a few lines of ad space. You have a very special opportunity to presell your product or service to your prospective customer.

3.Gain High Search Engine Ranking

Create a new web page for your article in your website. Optimize your article to make it search-engine friendly. Use top-ranked keywords and Meta tags that can give your website a high search engine ranking. As soon as you upload your new webpage to your server, search engines will spider through it and you can gain an increase in search engine ranking. Remember that search engine optimized content is a very effective strategy to gain a high ranking in search results.

4.Increases Link Popularity

Instead of looking for other sites who would want to establish reciprocal links with your site, you can simply submit an article to other sites. Just do not forget to include a link to your site in your resource box. When these websites pick up and publishes your article, you automatically get a link partner. Try to get as many link partners as you can. Link popularity is one of the factors used by search engines in determining search engine rankings. Make your article especially useful and appealing, so that more websites will be encouraged to publish it.

5.Optimizes your site for improved search engine ranking

By making your site keyword rich, you can greatly improve the search engine ranking of your site. Remember that keyword density is one of the most important factors that search engines use when determining the search engine ranking of site. However, you should always provide relevant, useful and pertinent information. Avoid the temptation of overusing keywords just to gain a high ranking as this may turn off most web surfers. Relevance and quality is still the most important things to consider when writing articles and it will be doubly useful to your site if you make these articles search-engine optimized.

6.Establishes a Good Impression and Reputation

By writing excellent, original and relevant articles, you not only give your site exposure, you are also creating a good impression on your prospects. Encourage more people to visit your site and do business with you by establishing an impressive reputation through your articles. Be seen as an expert in the field and your will ultimately gain more customers eager to do business with you.

7.Enhances your credibility through references and testimonies

Certainly, your articles are going to receive feedbacks and testimonies when you publish them in e-zines and free article sites. Record these positive feedbacks and comments and use them as promotional material in your website or in any of your advertising efforts. Your credibility will be greatly enhanced by these feedbacks, as it will create a good impression on your prospects as well as your existing customers. In this highly competitive world, excellent credibility and trust may be the only things you need to attract new customers or make loyal patrons out of your existing customers. Original, relevant, useful and pertinent articles are important tools you should utilize to improve and explode your business

Cisco CCNA / CCNP Certification Exam Tutorial: ISDN And Multilink PPP

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 12:31 am on Wednesday, July 23, 2008

ISDN is a huge topic on both your Cisco CCNA and BCRAN CCNP exams. While many ISDN topics seem straightforward, it’s the details that make the difference in the exam room and working with ISDN in production networks. Configuring and troubleshooting multilink PPP is just one of the skills you’ll need to pass both of these demanding exams.

With BRI, we’ve got two B-channels to carry data, and both of them have a 64-kbps capacity. You might think it would be a good idea to have both channels in operation before one reaches capacity, and it is a great idea Problem is, it’s not a default behavior of ISDN. The second b-channel will not begin to carry traffic until the first one reaches capacity.

With Multilink PPP (MLP), a bandwidth capacity can be set that will allow the second b-channel to bear data before the first channel reaches capacity. The configuration for MLP is simple, but often misconfigured. We’ll use our good friend IOS Help to verify the measurement this command uses.

Enabling MLP is a three-step process:

Enable PPP on the link

Enable MLP with the command ppp multilink

Define the threshold at which the second b-channel should start carrying data with the dialer load-threshold command.

Let’s say you wanted the second b-channel to start carrying data when the first channel reaches 75% of capacity. It would make sense that the command to do so would be dialer load-threshold 75… but it’s not.

R1(config)#int bri0

R1(config-if)#ppp multilink

R1(config-if)#dialer load-threshold ?

<1-255> Load threshold to place another call

The dialer load-threshold value is based on 255, not 100. To have this command bring the line up at a certain percentage, multiply that percentage in decimal format by 255. Below, I multiplied 255 by .75 (75%) to arrive at 191.

R1(config-if)#dialer load-threshold 191 ?

either Threshold decision based on max of inbound and outbound traffic

inbound Threshold decision based on inbound traffic only

outbound Threshold decision based on outbound traffic only

R1(config-if)#dialer load-threshold 191 either

As illustrated by IOS Help in the above configuration, dialer load-threshold has additional options as well. You can configure the interface to consider only incoming, outgoing, or all traffic when calculating when to bring the next channel up.

Configuring Multilink PPP is just one of the skills you’ll need to earn your CCNA and pass the CCNP BCRAN exam. Don’t underestimate ISDN on Cisco’s certification exams!

With Wines There is a Flavour for Almost Any Taste

Filed under: Web Of Marketing — admin at 5:25 pm on Sunday, July 20, 2008

Any lover of wines will tell you that a good palate is not something one is born with. It is a skill that is acquired over a long course of time and education. For those of you who are not yet loves of this fine liquid, a little education may be in order. There are basically four types of wine: red, white, blush (or rose), and champagne and contrary to popular belief, good wine doesn’t come in a box, that is unless it’s a small box that has been gift wrapped.

For my purposes here I will focus on red and white wines, as they are by far the most common. The general rule about red and white wines has for years been that in general if you are eating a more delicate dish such as chicken or fish you should choose a subtle wine that won’t overpower the dish. That is why red wine is traditionally associated with darker meats and white wine with lighter meats and vegetable dishes. This rule however, is not inviolate and if you are spending your hard earned money, you should be able to drink whatever you darned well please with your dinner. But hey, that’s just me. But I think this rule kind of hit the wind when people began wearing white after Labor Day.

While France has for many years been known as wine country the U. S. and Australia are producing some really good wines lately and Italy has always had an excellent selection. Each process will produce a different flavor and texture, as you learn more about your particular likes and dislikes make note of where the wine was made, what specific type of wine it was and what the approximate age of the wine is.

Find what you like and work with that. Branch out from there and try to find similar wines in flavor, body, and texture without buying the same identical bottle of wine over and over again. If you find a wine you really like, purchase a few bottles so you have some on hand. Slowly build your collection in this manner and you will eventually have a nice collection of wines that you enjoy.

Understanding Loudspeaker and Amplifier Impedance

Filed under: Product Resources — admin at 8:39 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2008

A “Channel” on an Amplifier refers to the individual module or circuit inside the amplifier which takes in a signal mono low level signal and boost’s it to drive a loudspeaker(s).

All Stereo amplifiers have 2 “Channels”, one channel handles the left hand signal and speaker, the other obviously does the same for the right. Other than some amplifiers sharing the same powersupply, the internal Left and right “channels” or circuit boards are seperate, which means in the event of a loudspeaker problem or component failure the opposite channel should continue to work.

Some Amplifiers used in home entertainment or Home Cinema systems have four or five output “channels”. These essentially work just like stereo (2 channel) amplifiers, but use additional outputs to drive front and rear loudspeaker pairs, and either a subwoofer or center channel for surround sound applications.

Okay - the load which determines how much power your amplifier provides to the speakers is dependant on the actual number of speakers connected and their impedance.

The load is called the impedence, and the level of impedence is measured in “ohms”. Most amplifiers will only work to a minimum of “4 Ohms” however some professional PA or Disco amplifiers such as Peavey, and QSC etc will work into a 2 Ohms load (often refered to as being “2 Ohms Stable”. However this application is rarely encountered since it would need 4x 8 Ohm Speakers to be connected to each channel to acheive this.

Working out Ohms:-

Most Music, Hi-Fi, Disco & P.A loudspeakers are rated at 8 ohms, so connecting one 8 ohm speaker to one channel of the amplifier will present a load of 8 ohms to it.

Plugging in an additional 8 ohm loudspeaker into either the existing connected speaker or the second socket on the same channel of the amplifier (if fitted) will equal 8 ohm + 8 ohm = 4 Ohms load to the amplifier.

To get 2 ohms you would need to connect:-

8 Ohms + 8 Ohms + 8 Ohms + 8 Ohms = a 2 Ohm Load, so to get your amplifiers 2 Ohm rating you need to connect (4x) 8 ohm speakers to it.

Given the fact that each channel is identical and seperate, your Amplifier has the capability of running 4 x 8 ohm speakers per channel! - a total of 8 speakers - which is why I said to ignore 2 ohm ratings when buying an Amplifier and concentrate on the 4 or 8 ohm wattage ratings!.

2 Ohms of load on the Amp can also be acheived by connecting (2x) 4 Ohm loudspeaker cabs to the same channel.

In Hi-Fi Applications, it is also common to find 6 ohm and 4 ohm loudspeakers for sale in the marketplace. If your amplifier is rated at 4 ohms minimum load, then it is wise to just connect a single speaker to each channel to avoid overload.

So some common speaker combinations are below

8 Ohms load can be acheived by connecting either

1 x 8 ohm speaker

or

2x 16 ohm speakers (16 ohm speakers are very rare nowadays)

4 Ohms load can be acheived by connecting:-

1x 4 Ohm speaker

or

2x 8 ohm loudspeakers

or

4x 16 ohm loudspeakers

or

1x 8 ohm and 2x 16 ohm loudspeakers

Sugar Glider Bonding Tips

Filed under: Children Fun, Fun Infos, Pet Care — admin at 4:29 pm on Friday, July 11, 2008

Bonding with your sugar glider is not an easy job. Even though you bring them home and give them a nice place to live, it can still be a rough road. The good thing about sugar gliders is that they are very social and can easily bind with you. All it depends on is the amount of time you spend with them - the more time you give, the more you gain their trust.

Following are some tips that may be helpful in terms of making a strong relationship with sugar gliders.

• The first mistake that many parents make is that they fill the cage with many toys. Do not do this. Sugar gliders are social animals, and if they have too much fun, they may not be interested in you.

• Sugar gliders have the ability to recognize the members of family through their smell. For bonding, use a small cloth and wear it close to your skin for a day or so, then place it near the sugar glider’s sleeping area.

• You can also use a Bonding Pouch, a small fabric pouch that is worn around the neck. Through this, your glider will familiarize your voice and scent.

• Do not show fast and sudden movements around your glider - this will frighten them, making them react seriously to your movements.

• Always use a soft and comforting voice to call your sugar glider. They will definitely react to your sweet voice and you will gain their trust.

• Look after your sugar glider with great care and attention, just like a baby. Do not hold them tightly or chase them in a cage - this could scare them and make them less likely to trust you.

• Do not look and put your hands in their pouches, let their sleeping area be a safe zone for them.
These are just few tips that might help you in terms of bonding with sugar gliders. Gaining their trust is not so hard, but it requires your attention and softness towards them. Sugar gliders are completely social animals, and they love to stay in crowded places and have fun. Now it’s up to you in terms of how you will gain their trust.
