Dating Advice: Keep a Guy Interested!

Filed under: Gender Studies — admin at 12:17 am on Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Many women make themselves overly available in relationships, and the consequences tend to be disastrous.

Hey, we tell ourselves, I like the guy. He might be the one! Can’t let him slip through my fingers! So, we stay home and wedge the last bit of peanut butter from the jar for dinner. Can’t run out for real food and risk missing his call!

When he does call, we move heaven and earth to hang out with him. So what if we had plans to go out with friends on Friday night? Cancel! So what if we had a dentist appointment when he called at the last minute about having football tickets. Cancel! Hey, these things aren’t important, right?

Wrong!

When you cancel prior agreements to be with a guy, you’re pretty much canceling your life. Deep down, you don’t feel good about it (your friends and dentist don’t feel good about it, either). You’re also telling the guy that you can’t live without him.

And that lowers your stock.

Let’s turn the tables: Would you really want some a guy who cancels plans with his friends to be with you? Who calls you three times a day? Who treats you like you’re his one and only shot at happiness?

No, you wouldn’t. Regardless of his education, salary, sense of humor, and great looks, you’d stop respecting him. Any attraction you once felt for him would die a quick and sudden death.

You’d dump him and look for a guy who has a life.

Now, don’t misunderstand me. I don’t advocate playing games. If a man calls you, you answer the phone. If he leaves a message, you call him back. But if he calls you at 7:30PM on Friday to go to a football game on Saturday, I’d think twice about it.

In other words, don’t let yourself be taken for granted.

My mother told me of a rule she had when she was dating: She’d never say yes to a Saturday date unless the guy asked her before Thursday. She explained that he’d figure she didn’t have much going on if she didn’t have plans by then. When she told me this, I thought it sounded contrived and stupid. But, as in most things, it turns out she was right.

Remember this: Everybody, man or woman, likes to win a prize. Being available, but not too-available, makes you a prize.

As time goes on and your relationship with a guy becomes serious, it’s important to keep up your hobbies, continue to see your friends, and do all the things that make you who you are –things that don’t necessarily include him.

It makes you attractive. What’s more, you’ll like yourself more for it. Women who like themselves are especially desirable, sexy, and fun to be around.

Be that woman.

Debt Consolidation - Should I Consolidate My Debts?

Filed under: Education + Schooling, Money + Finance — admin at 12:10 pm on Monday, January 19, 2009

If you have multiple debts that you are struggling to deal with, you may have considered debt consolidation as one option. Debt consolidation is a good way of potentially reducing your monthly payments and simplifying your finances. But as with any debt solution, it comes with its downsides - and it’s always worth speaking to a debt adviser to discuss whether another debt solution may be more suited to your situation.

Debt consolidation: how it works
Debt consolidation is a way of combining all your debts into one, and then paying them off in monthly payments to only one creditor, rather than individual payments to all of your creditors. It is essentially another loan that pays off your existing debts -your lender will pay off your debts for you, and you will repay that lender accordingly.

An advantage of debt consolidation loans is that they can be scheduled over a longer period of time than your original debts, making your monthly payments lower. If your original debts included high-APR credit such as credit cards, there’s a good chance your overall interest rate will be lower too.

However, be aware that repaying a debt consolidation loan over a longer period of time may result in you paying more money back in the long run, as interest will be added for every month taken to repay the debt.

When should I consider a debt consolidation loan?

* If you have multiple debts that you think will be affordable if you spread them out over a longer period.
* If your debts are currently manageable, but you would like to simplify your monthly finances.
* If you have a number of high-APR loans or credit cards - a debt consolidation loan can reduce your interest rates significantly.

When is a debt consolidation not suitable?

* If your monthly payments will still be a struggle after you have rescheduled them. Particularly if you have debts of over £15,000, you may want to consider an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) or another debt solution - contact an expert debt adviser for further information.
* If you are considering ‘topping up’ your debt consolidation loan with money you do not need, i.e. to enable another expensive purchase. Many people are tempted, but doing so will increase your risk of being unable to repay the loan, which carries serious consequences.

Before considering any debt solution, it’s essential that you seek expert advice from a professional debt adviser. They will talk you through your financial situation in confidence and help decide which debt solution is best suited to you. Debt consolidation loans are suitable for some people, but it’s also worth considering a debt management plan, and for those with over £15,000 of debt, an IVA may be the best option.

Filed under: Gender Studies — admin at 3:11 am on Saturday, January 17, 2009

The following information will assist Women especially stay-at- home moms who falls into the categories below to make multiple streams of income from home.

CATEGORIES: *Women, aged 25-60. *At home, taking care of children. *Can afford to stay at home, but probably need an extra income. *Bored - the kids are wonderful, but needs to do something else. *Previously had jobs, so have some skills and unique knowledge. *Would love to stay at home rather than return to work force. *Read women and family magazines, listen to morning radio.

DO-ABLE STEPS TO FOLLOW

(1.)Start From What You Know: Think of something, just something that you know, and you can share with people, don’t think of how it will sell yet. Just something you are good at, could be: Home making, babysitting, dating, organizing party, cooking, dressmaking, teaching, sport, fashion, writing, selling of articles, etc. Just some ordinary things that you do.

(2.)Brainstorm Profitable Topics: These are keywords and key phrases, which are often searched upon but are rarely targeted by websites. If you chose fashion for example, people might not be interested in fashion because it is too broad.

Moreover there are hundreds of thousands of websites already targeting fashions, so you don’t stand a chance of making money.

But people may search for baby fashion, millennium fashion, fashion parades, etc. Once you are able to locate what people search for in the area you have chosen, you make this your theme.

(3.)Build A Site: This is how people can find you. Your site must be a theme-based content site in the niche that you know and love.

If you don’t have the knowledge of site building and/or marketing you don’t need to hire an expensive professional, you can use SiteBuildIt, a total e-business building tool, that combines site building, site hosting and site marketing together.

You don’t need to know HTML, programming or any additional soft- ware to use it, and the cost is low. The tool is a wonderful gift for home businesses.

(4.)Fill Your Site With Good Content And Use It To Attract Targeted Traffic: Your site content must provide information, information that online surfers are looking for. Don’t fill your site with flashing banners, don’t write sales letters. First offer your site visitors what they are looking for i.e. information on your chosen theme.

Your content should be search engine friendly, so that it is included in the top 10 -20 results. Most surfers look for info from search engines, and that is how they will find yours. With the right tool you can do this easily.

(5.)Motivate Your Visitors With Your Content: Don’t write to sell, but write to presell. Develop trust and confidence by writing with your visitors best interest in mind. Identify their problems and identify why your own solution is the right solution.

Use real life example to powerfully communicate the benefits of using your products or services. You may need to get Ken Envoy’s “Make Your Content Presell” to sharpen your skills in this area.

(6.)Turn Your Traffic Into Revenue” Create an “open-to-buy” mindset and smoothly introduces your site visitors to your monetizations offers which must include: (i)Google Adsene: Visitors click on your Google Ads, generating money for you. (ii)Affiliate Programs of merchants who sell related goods or services to your theme. (iii)Referrer/finder Offers: Special offers for offline business. (iv)Other models for your long-term goals(ex., services, e-goods, hardgoods, etc)

If you follow the steps above, you will make money, easier, faster and cheap and you still have time for other things that are important to you.

Should Exercisers Restrict Salt?

Filed under: Shopping Hub — admin at 2:15 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2009

In February 2005 the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a consumer advocacy group, sued the federal government for failure to act on the evidence that salt kills 150,000 Americans each year (Nutrition Action Newsletter, February 2005.) The average American consumes 4,000 milligrams a day. Government spokesmen recommend salt levels below 2,300 milligrams (one teaspoon) a day. The American Heart Association recommends 1,500 mg a day.

Excess salt intake raises blood pressure in some people by expanding blood volume. However, before you go out and try to avoid all salt, realize that your body needs some salt and severe salt restriction can be harmful. Severe salt restriction causes high blood pressure by causing the adrenal glands to release large amounts of aldosterone and the kidneys to release renin. Both hormones constrict arteries to cause high blood pressure. People on salt-wasting diuretics should also not try to restrict salt because they would then be at high risk for salt deficiency.

Athletes must be very cautions about salt restriction. Since sweat contains huge amounts of salt, athletes who restrict salt are in danger of developing fatigue, muscle damage and cramps caused by low salt levels. The most common cause of muscle cramps in exercisers is lack of salt.

The key to retaining water during exercise is to take in salt to replace the salt you lose in your sweat. Until recently, many scientists did not appreciated how important salt is to retaining fluid in your body. Thirst is a late sign of dehydration. You lose water during exercise primarily through sweating, and sweat contains a far lower concentration of salt than blood. So exercisers lose far more water than salt, causing the concentration of salt in the blood to rise. A person will not feel thirsty until the concentration of salt in the blood rises high enough to trip off thirst osmoreceptors in the brain and it takes a loss of between two and four pints of fluid to do that.

Taking in fluid without also taking in adequate amounts of salt dilutes the bloodstream, so that the concentration of salt in the blood is lower than that in brain cells. This causes fluid to move from the low-salt blood into the high-salt brain causing the brain to swell which can cause seizures and death. Taking in extra salt during prolonged exercise increases thirst so you drink more fluids, and prevents blood salt levels from dropping so low that you become tired, develop muscle cramps, and can even die.

If you have high blood pressure and are not on diuretics that drain salt from your body, it is reasonable to restrict salt. If you are a regular exerciser and feel tired or become injured, have your doctor draw blood levels of salt. You may find that you need to increase your intake of salt, particularly during exercise in warm weather.

If you do not have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or other risk factors for heart attacks and strokes, there is little evidence that you will benefit from severe salt restriction. However, future research may change this recommendation. Processed foods and fast-food restaurant fare contribute almost 80 percent of the salt to the American diet, and a healthful diet is low in these foods.

A Guide to the Pastimes Gambling Aficionados Enjoy Contending in: Gambling Saloon Taking Risks

Assuming that you haven’t figured out gambling house games of luck, then please continue to read —

Grand Mondial Casinos

In the name of clarity, a gambling saloon is a building that focuses on gambling. Here, customers will have fun by operating one armed bandits or a slew of other games of luck. Betting saloon games mainly include well calculated odds built in that ensure the saloon reserves its upper hand above the clients. A number of gaming room games can instigate you to get obsessed rapidly. Let’s examine the simple slot-machine, a coin operated gadget with 3 or more cylinders that gyrate when an arm attached to it is wrenched. The instrument typically pays up in accordance with a set arrangement of images visible on the information screen of the instrument. Regrettably, betting saloon games tend to push the delusion of ascendancy, hoodwinking the betting aficionado — the participant can make choices, but in actual fact they cannot hope to really match the patron’s fundamental odds. This is precipitated by the betting establishment never paying the full stake as expected. This structure is recurrently noticeable in popular casino games such as stud poker, dice games, roulette or blackjack.

Five card stud is undoubtedly a highly popular casino pastime. The patrons, holding partially hidden cards, wager into a central pot which is bestowed onto the last punter enjoying the best hand. (And as eveyone knows, the best bluffing hand may well prevail ..) Analogous to poker, blackjack is also a very popular casino game. A sizeable chunk of its renown is caused by its particular mix of luck and ingenuity and decision making, not to forget a routine termed card counting. The aforementioned is a tactics through which visitors will reverse the odds of the game in their interest by both wagering and strategic actions in agreement with the cards dealt. “Craps” is another well known casino pastime using the roll of 2 dice. Bettors can bet on the outcome of of one cycle, or on a succession of rolls on two dice. Dissimilar to blackjack, there isn’t any practicable long term winning strategy people could utilize to improve the odds. Roulette is an insanely popular game of luck. Here a croupier revolves a roulette wheel encompassing precisely 37 (in the case of French roulette) or, respectively thirty eight (applies to American or Vegas roulette) separately numbered slots in which a tossed pellet will come to rest, which will be the winner Assuming that a punter wagers on a specific number which makes it meaning he’s actually having a streak of luck, the set premium will be thirty-five to one, the pledge being paid back. Hence in totality it’s multiplied by thirty-six.

We strongly recommend you be very wary nevertheless for all of these betting room gambling pastimes are rightly considered awfully habituating. There’s far too many lives that are reported to have been ruined by reckless gambling + even if it surely can be a lot of fun, aim to balance your gambling.

Lame Duck President Is, Well, Lame in the Eyes of US Poker Players

Filed under: Fun Infos, Gambling Hall, Life Of Games — admin at 11:32 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2009

I have some sad news to report for US online poker players. The UIGEA has been finalized and is expected to be in full effect on January 19, 2009. The significance of that date: It’s the day before president-elect Barack Obama formally takes office.

Obama being a poker player himself, had won the hearts of many US poker players as they saw his position on the game as one sympathetic to their cause. Namely, the PPA and Senator Barney Frank who were looking to over turn the bill saw Obama as another powerful force to bring online cash game poker back to the United States.

The unfortunate news about this political move by the lame duck administration is that laws take 60 days to become fully effective after finalization. This means that if bringing online poker back to the US is on the president-elect’s agenda, the hoops he’ll have to jump through are much bigger and the path is much harder to navigate.

And with the economic situation and international relations demanding more immediate attention, it seems the burden will lie on Congress to fix this atrocious “midnight lawmaking” move by the Bush administration.

Already the Congressmen and women in the Senate and House are drafting legislation to overturn the Bush move, but only time will tell if the UIGEA will be included as part of the restoration package.

Defective Product Lawyer Says: Buyer Be Aware

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 8:17 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2009

In the past, the rule of the day was “buyer beware”. It was up to consumers to inform and protect themselves from irresponsible companies and dangerous products. Current law, however, is just the opposite. Now companies are legally required to provide reasonably safe products. If companies produce dangerous or defective products, consumers can sue them for the injuries suffered as a result. Strict product liability makes everyone in the production process, from component manufacturers to distributors, responsible for the safety of the product. This makes safe products a priority for both consumers and producers, which should be the ideal situation.

However, the mere existence of this law has not completely protected consumers from dangerous products. Often companies are not careful and let defective products slip through the production line, or they compromise the safety of their product to reduce costs. Defective products reach the shelves every day, where they can hurt consumers. When these products injure you, it is important to find a lawyer and pursue the company, both to claim the repayment you deserve and to protect other consumers from the defective product.

A product does not even have to be defective for its manufacturer to be liable under product liability law. If a product is merely unsafe to consumers, every company affiliated with the production, distribution, and retail of that product can be held responsible. There are four different ways to legally establish product liability for defective or dangerous products: negligence, breach of warranty, misrepresentation, and strict liability.

A company is considered negligent when it is responsible for providing a standard of safety and does not do so. This includes inaction as well as careless and intentionally dangerous practices. Breach of warranty occurs when a product fails to carry out the claims of a seller. Companies are obligated to fulfill any promises made to customers. Misrepresentation refers to the expectations consumers hold from a products advertising and promotion. If consumers are lead to believe, through advertising, that a product is safer than it really is, the product has been misrepresented. Finally, strict liability assigns the responsibility for safety to every step of the production and distribution process. If a product is defective and the defect injures a consumer, the company is strictly liable and responsible for the injury regardless of fault or intent.

A person only has three years to bring an action from the time they become aware of the loss, the defect, and the manufacturer. Any action that is taken has to happen within ten years of the time the goods were supplied. This creates a limited window for consumers to protect their interests, claim repayment from irresponsible companies, and establish justice for dangerous business practices. This area of law is very complicated and if you feel that you have been hurt or injured by any product you should contact a lawyer right away. An attorney will review your case and tell you from experience what you could expect from pursuing a lawsuit.

Malpractice - Talking About Errors

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 11:51 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2009

In this article we’re going to dive a little deeper in talking about errors as they apply to malpractice.

It’s pretty common to talk about errors in regard to a medical setting and trying to figure out “what went wrong?” Or, in relation to the patient, what were the consequences and what happened to them? Unfortunately, most of the consequences we see are those that result in the patient’s injury, or worse, death.

Let’s take the drug Lidocaine, for example. There are a number of errors involving this drug but the statistics don’t tell us anything about why the errors occur. If they’re this common there must be a reason. Why?

The thing is, what we don’t see are the errors that are committed and then caught before they were completed and became serious. The reason we don’t see them is because they are caught, corrected, and in turn prevent the patient from suffering harm, thus preventing any action of malpractice. The variables involved with why errors occur don’t tell us how many errors occur because of the probability of substitution errors on the night shift, or by physicians, or by pharmacists. Determining what causes an error is vital in determining if a new drug should be released or a new procedure should be allowed to continue.

For example, just recently the first face transplant was performed. In spite of the fact that the risks were told to the patient before the procedure, there could still be more serious complications than what were discussed that could ultimately lead to a malpractice suit. In this case, the first thing that needs to be determined is if the procedure itself should be allowed to continue as it is new and we know very little about it.

To put this in a more general explanation, an error must be evaluated based on what is available as treatment for the particular condition in the first place. All factors must be considered including surgical procedure, drugs available, equipment available and the current training for the physician that is available. Was the right act substituted by a wrong act or was the procedure or drug or equipment faulty to begin with thus making success highly unlikely?

Then there is the matter of what is called consequence. In other words, something is going to happen, most likely bad, based on the error that was committed. In some cases the consequence is mild. In other cases the consequence is serious. These are the cases that usually make it to court in the form of a malpractice suit.

Again, this all comes back to what we as humans can be held accountable for. If the error is caused by the doctor making an obvious mistake in a procedure that has been done for years with no problem then most likely he is guilty of malpractice. But if the error occurs because of faulty procedure or equipment then more data is needed to determine if the doctor is indeed at fault.

In the next article we’re going to discuss what can be done about errors.
